The Thames Path London
If you are looking for a nice easy walk for you and your dog in London, the Thames path is perfect.
Start/End point: The Angel Pub, 101 Bermondsey Wall E, London SE16 4NB
Walk type: Circular
Points of interest: The Shard, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, The River Thames, HMS Belfast
The other day Shireess decided to take me for a gander around London. It wasn’t the best weather for it. Rather wet I thought, especially when we got caught out in a down pour in the middle of London Bridge. She really should have left the planning to me.
Anyway, a very interesting walk, except my escort kept stopping to look across this wide river, which I was not allowed to swim in. Rather boring if you ask me.

The worst part of the walk, was that she would not let me off my lead. Not once! Not even to knock over some cyclists. Seemed perfectly acceptable for them to bosh people off the pavements. Surely it is only fair for me to do the same. Shireess of course thinks differently.
She would not even let me run around in Potters Field. There were some wonderful smells coming from those things, oh what are they called? Pick-nick baskets. I was dying to go and investigate, and maybe grab a bite or two. Shireess was having none of it.
At one point something shiny caught my eye. It looked so lovely and sharp, just right for me to crunch on. But as always Shireess was determined to spoil my enjoyment.
And then down in this rather large well there were people shouting. Rather overly dramatized in my view. and their clothes were very strange. People were just sitting there watching! I could not understand it myself.
We walked over Tower Bridge. All I have to say about that is, too many stairs. I mean I may have four legs, but there is a limit. And I was not allowed to run up them. Why? Because I was still on my lead and Shireess was afraid we would trip someone up.
When we arrived at the other side Shireess said we would have a nice easy stroll in front of The Tower of London. Well someone should have checked before hand, because it was all closed off. We then had to walk the remainder of the bridge, avoid traffic and make several crossings before Shireess remembered the short cut through the Tower Gardens. If only she left the planning to me!

Eventually we reach something called a viewing platform. Rather silly name if you ask me. I do not require a special platform what ever that is. I can be admired all day, every day. If only someone would notice!
It was just a quick walk from there to London Bridge, which meant yet more stairs! Shireess was so busy trying to take an artistic photo of HMS Belfast that she did not notice the change in atmosphere.

I could smell the rain a mile off. I tried to tell her as much. I whined. I put my paws on her knees. But she would not listen, and the result! We were soaked! The worst part? We were only half way through the walk!
